Kenji of '42

Alright, so I've been listening to this guy...or group...not sure...but anyways, the rapper (group) goes by the name of Fort Minor. His name real name is Mike Shinoda. He's got this song called "Kenji" It's basically a story about a man named Kenji who owned a store in LA during World War II. He was a first generation Japanese immigrant in the United States. Once war broke out with Japan, the FBI came and took the Japanese to [Mandanar], which was basically a camp for isolating the Japanese in America so that they couldn't communicate with the Japanese outside of America. Finally, they were released and returned home to a ransacked home. Written on the walls and floors was, "Japs not welcome anymore" Mike says, "The names were changed but the story's true, my family was locked up back in Forty-Two." In the song it's got recordings of his mother and father telling about the camps and their experiences. It's a pretty serious song, and it sends a pretty serious message. It makes you realize...Germany wasn't the only one with camps, and the isolating people...We did the same thing. Though, I don't know how many people died, or any of the specifics, that's because, just like Germany, the truth was hidden from the public (for the most part). In school, I'd never learned anything about that. I had no clue America had ever done anything like that.

It makes me wonder, "What have they been teaching?...Why have they hidden this?...If you're too ashamed to inform, why do it in the first place?...Is reality, just one giant web of censored information that is only what we want us to know?
